Getting clean bends in copper and aluminium busbars

A clean bend depends on three things.
- Spring-back compensation. The bender controller adds the extra angle the metal springs back.
- The right mold. Use step molds for close offsets, edge-bending molds for bends on the narrow side, and twist molds for 90 degree twists.
- Surface protection. Rotatable plates stop the busbar surface from being marked during bending.
Check mold limits before ordering: for example, edge bending is typically limited to 40 x 10 mm at 90 degrees.
